Retargeting
They Visited. They Looked. Now Get Them Back.
Retargeting Advertising for the Central Coast
Most people don’t book a hotel, buy a ticket, reserve a tasting, or schedule an experience the first time they visit your website. Retargeting puts your business back in front of those interested visitors while they’re still deciding what to do, where to go, and what to book.
Don’t let interested customers disappear.
The First Visit Isn’t Always the Conversion.
Someone visits your website. They may check out your rooms, experiences, or products & services. Then they leave. That doesn’t mean they aren’t interested. They may be comparison shopping, on-the-go and planning to return to it later, or just browsing.
Retargeting gives you another opportunity to turn that interest into action.
For travel and hospitality brands, remarketing campaigns have produced substantial improvements in conversion performance. AMResorts, for example, saw a 153% increase in conversion rate, 23% higher ROI, and 4% more bookings after implementing remarketing based on its booking funnel.
What is Retargeting?
Retargeting—also called remarketing—is advertising to people who have already interacted with your business. This might be someone who visited your website, followed you on Facebook, or provided their email address to sign up for your newsletter.
Retargeting can be used to sell to new customers, upsell to existing, and re-engage with cart abandoners and lapsed clientele. Audiences can be created using pixels & cookies, email addresses, and active followers on platforms like Meta or TikTok.
Screechy Cat Media runs retargeting campaigns across both paid social and programmatic advertising strategies.
Remarketing: Built for Businesses Where Timing Matters
Retargeting is particularly powerful when customers need to plan, compare, coordinate, or make a decision before they buy. Screechy Cat Media has developed retargeting strategies for industries in the following verticals:
- Wineries & Tasting Rooms: Someone viewed your tasting room experiences but didn’t reserve? Bring them back with a compelling experience, seasonal promotion, or upcoming event.
- Hotels & Hospitality: Someone researched rooms or packages? Keep your hotel in front of them while they’re comparing where to stay.
- Golf, Recreation, Experiences: Someone checked out your course, package, or other wine country experience? Give them another reason to make the booking.
Not all retargeting is the same
Not every visitor deserves the same ad. This is an important differentiator for Screechy Cat Media clients. We don’t believe in creating one giant “people who visited our website” audience and blasting the same creative at everyone.
We can build audiences based on what people actually did.
| Audience | Rationale |
|---|---|
| Event page visitors | “Still thinking about joining us?” |
| Booking-page visitors | “Your getaway is waiting.” |
| Cart abandoners | “You were almost there.” |
| Tasting-room visitors | “Make your next Santa Ynez visit unforgettable.” |
| Previous customers | “Come back and experience what’s new.” |
| Recent visitors | “Planning your weekend?” |
| High-intent visitors | “Ready to book?” |
What Can I Do with Remarketing?
- Reconnect with people who visited your site but didn’t convert.
- Show relevant ads based on what visitors actually viewed.
- Bring back people who started the purchase process (cart abandoners).
- Promote new experiences, events, upgrades, and repeat visits.
- Use your first-party customer data like emails to reach existing audiences across digital channels.
